Kara Lawrence is a gifted student-athlete that holds down the paint for the Weatherford Lady Roos. This 6 ft 3 center is a dominating presence in district 4 (5A) averaging over 8 rebounds per game.

Kara and coach Miller both feel that

their team can recover from last year's disappointing 4th place finish, and

make it to the playoffs.

Coach Miller told TexasGirlsBasketball.com, "we

are confident that we'll make it to

the post-season, and have our sights

on a district championship".

District 4 finished with Summit claiming the championship, North Crowley

coming in second and Burleson

grabbing the last flag.

Kara and her team will have to raise

their game to grab that third spot,

let alone the lofty goal of taking home

the district title.

Coach Miller thinks that is exactly

what Kara can do stating, "Kara hates

to lose and thrives on competition."

As a junior #50 averaged 17.1 ppg, had 57 blocked shots, shot 56% from inside the arc, nailed 71% of her chances from the charity stripe and pulled down over 8 rebounds a game. Kara has yet to

commit to a college program but should have a number of possibilities.

We asked Kara what she needed to do

to help her team meet their goals and

she said "I have to bring my "A" game everynight."

Kara points to her parents as the

reason behind her success, and wants

to study medicine in college.
