The U.F.C.W. CENTRE (#101, 12827 - 76th Avenue, Surrey) is offering free use of its computers on a drop-in basis. Access to the MS OFFICE package is available, together with typing tutor software and the Internet.
The typing tutor software, called ALL THE RIGHT TYPE, is an interactive program designed to teach keyboarding (typing). Features of the software include:
- THE LEARNING LAB: Teaches proper posture and hand position. Each key is taught -- with its correct finger reach -- without worrying about speed.
- THE PRACTICE PAVILION: Provides the same drill material as in THE LEARNING LAB, but with a speed goal. The practice method can be in the form of standard lines and reports - or an animated race against a pacer scull on a river.
- SKILL BUILDING: Skills are honed with a series of graduated drills containing words, sentences, and short paragraphs.
This user-friendly program provides visual instructions to the user - making it an exemplary tool for development of keyboarding skills.
Additionally, free time for INTERNET access is available.
