Shoppers Drug Mart #222 (Vancouver) Negotiations Update

October 03, 2009

Negotiations between the union and Shoppers Drug Mart #222 resumed on October 1st and 2nd.

Although good progress was made at the bargaining table, the settlement proposed in the employer’s last offer fell short of being good enough for the Union Negotiating Committee to sign off on and recommend you accept. Consequently, negotiations were adjourned late on the afternoon of October 2, 2009.

A Labour Relations Board mediator is now assisitng with negotiations, and remains available to offer her services when negotiations resume.

At this time there are no future meeting dates scheduled, and the Union Negotiating Committee will take a few days to consider their options. The Union Negotiating Committee remains committed to achieving a settlement they can fully endorse and bring back to the members in the store for ratification.

The Union Negotiating Committee is Liz Silva, Darrell Causey, and James Raposo, and further information about negotiations will be posted as it becomes available.
