Cherry Park (Penticton) negotiations update

The Union Negotiating Committee for UFCW 1518 members employed at Penticton’s Cherry Park Retirement Residence met with the employer on December 9 and 10 to continue negotiations for a new collective agreement.

The Union Committee and employer have now reached agreement on all non-monetary items.

The employer tabled their initial monetary (wages and benefits) package late in the day on December 9th. The employer’s offer was not acceptable to the Union Committee, and the Union Committee responded with a counter-position to the employer.

The employer intends to respond to the Union’s counter-position, but advised the Union Committee they would need some time to prepare their response, and requested that the parties meet early in the new year.
