Coopers Members Entitled to Summer Vacation

February 06, 2010

With Cooper’s Foods members at various locations selecting their vacation for 2010, the union has received enquiries from members regarding the entitlement to vacation during the thirteen weeks of summer.

All Cooper’s members are entitled to take two weeks of vacation during the thirteen week summer period, provided you have twelve months of continuous service or more.

The new language negotiated into the Cooper’s Collective Agreement during the 2009 round of contract negotiations is specific to the Cooper’s contract.

Section 8.02 of the Cooper’s contract states, “All eligible employees shall be entitled to two (2) weeks of vacation during the thirteen (13) weeks of summer. Eligible employees include those with twelve (12) months of continuous service.”

Feel free to contact your Union Representative if you have any questions or concerns. Any Cooper’s members with questions or experiencing difficulties regarding their vacation entitlement or the vacation selection process are encouraged to contact the full-time Union Representative for their store.
