Port McNeill IGA #20 Members Ratify New Contract

On April 28, UFCW 1518 members at IGA #20 in Port McNeill ratified the terms for a new collective agreement. Union members voted 90% in favour of the contracts terms, and highlights of the new three-year agreement include:

• Retroactive wage increases across the board;
• Wage progression scale has been put into place with wage increases on the scale every 1040 hours;
• Sick bank pay for part-time employees;
• Extra week of vacation for people with 18-years of service or more;
• Improved job posting language;
• Key personnel language.

The new contract expires September 30, 2012.
