Peoplesoft meltdown continues after 10 months
May 13, 2010
With UFCW 1518 members continuing to wonder what it will take for Safeway to solve the Peoplesoft payroll crisis it has created, the union continues to file grievances to protect members in locations right across the province, including most recently on behalf of members in 100 Mile House and Kamloops.Members from all corners of the province are telling their Union Reps how they have lost confidence and respect for Safeway as a result of the employer’s failure to respond to their well-founded concerns.
As frustrating for members is when they observe how quickly Safeway will claw back an overpayment, but at the same time show no real concern for the massive disruption they are causing in the lives of members.
The grievances state that, “(Safeway’s) ongoing failure to correct and/or provide a detailed breakdown of all outstanding PeopleSoft issues (ATO, Vacation, Sick Time, etc)…is a breach of Section 5.02, 8, 10.01, the PeopleSoft Settlement Agreement and the Collective Bargaining Agreement as a whole.”
Any members with concerns or questions about Peoplesoft are encouraged to click here, download and fill out the Request Form, and turn it over to their store manager. Please be sure to keep a copy that you can give to your Union Representative.
