Health Care Members: Have You Been Reimbursed For Your Criminal Record Check?

June 16, 2010

Local 1518 has filed a group grievance on behalf of Health Care members working for the Fraser Health Authority.

This grievance has been filed due to the Health Authority’s resistance in covering the cost of required Criminal Record Checks.

The Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General now require a mandatory Criminal Record Check every five years for anyone who works with, or who is in contact with children (anyone under 19 years old) at work. Workers must have this Record completed if they wish to continue to be employed.

Please contact your Union Representative if you work for a Health Care employer and have been refused reimbursement for your Criminal Record Check
