Negotiations Begin at Sunrise Poultry

Negotiations for the renewal of the Collective Agreement with Sunrise Poultry Processors began on Tuesday June 29th.  

The talks opened with the Union Negotiating Committee presenting and explaining the member’s proposals. The Employer did not come to the table with specific proposals, but they did present a fairly extensive opening statement in which they expressed their concerns around changes in the regulation of the industry and the potential affect of these on the business.

The  Collective Agreement expired on June 30th and negotiations affect approximately 400 members at the Employer’s facility in Surrey. Talks will resume on July 28th.

The Negotiating Committee is Inderpal Burn, Ravi Dhindsa, Ray Sereduik, Kevin Sparkes , and Alternate Brian Renflesh  assisted by James Raposo, Director of Negotiations for UFCW Local 1518.
