Interior Health Care Members: Have You Been Reimbursed For Your Criminal Record Check?
July 19, 2010
Local 1518 has filed a mass grievance on behalf of Health Care members working for the Interior Health Authority (IHA).
This grievance has been filed due to the Health Authority’s resistance in covering the cost of required Criminal Record Checks.
The Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General now require a mandatory Criminal Record Check every five years for anyone who works with, or who is in contact with children (anyone under 19 years old) at work. If IHA workers want to keep their jobs, they must have this Record Check completed.
Please contact your Union Representative if your Health Care employer is refusing to reimburse you for your Criminal Record Check.
