Bulkley Valley Wholesale Mediation Update

Negotiations for Bulkley Valley Wholesale in Smithers resumed on July 22nd and 23rd with the assistance of Mediator Vince Ready.

Representatives of Overwaitea Food Group presented an updated position on July 22nd and the Union replied on the afternoon of July 23rd. Unfortunately the by the end this latest round of bargaining the positions of the parties remained quite far apart, increasing the possibility that negotiations may need to be resolved by binding arbitration.

The negotiations have been adjourned, while Mr. Ready considers the parties positions and the prospects for a mediated settlement. He will be in contact with the Union and the Company next week to advise of his suggestions on how the parties should proceed.
