Bargaining At Pricesmart Foods Continues

On July 26th the Union and Pricesmart Foods (PSF) discussed new proposals in addition to the proposals presented at their last meeting. The meeting was successful for both committees, as several proposals were agreed to.

Further bargaining between the Union and PSF are scheduled for the week of October 11, 2010.

Pricesmart is owned by the Overwaitea Food Group, and the Union Negotiating Committee tabled its proposal that Pricesmart Foods workers join their colleagues at Save-On & Overwaitea Foods by having workers at all three banners covered by the Save-On/Overwaitea collective agreement.

The Union Negotiating Committee is Arun Chatterjee (Pricesmart 2235 - White Rock), Debbie Enns (Pricesmart 2240 - Vancouver), Don French (Pricesmart 2242 – Langley), Chris MacDonald (Pricesmart  2215 – Surrey), and Wes Schellenberg (Pricesmart 2208 – Clearbrook), assisted by Monica Staff (Director, UFCW 1518) and Frank Pozzobon (Secretary-Treasurer, UFCW 1518).
