Negotiations Continue At Sunrise Poultry
July 30, 2010
Negotiations for the renewal of the Collective Agreement with Sunrise Poultry Processors continued on July 28, 2010.
Day two opened with the Employer’s Committee presenting and explaining their proposals.
After some time reviewing each other’s proposals, the remainder of the day was spent discussing, clarifying, and justifying a number of non-monetary proposals tabled by the Union when negotiations began on June 29th.
There is little progress to report at this early stage of review and analysis. The parties expect to present their formal responses after the next round of talks scheduled to take place on August 12th.
The Collective Agreement expired on June 30th and negotiations affect approximately 400 members at the Employer’s facility in Surrey.
The Negotiating Committee is Inderpal Burn, Ravi Dhindsa, Ray Sereduik, Kevin Sparkes , and Alternate Brian Renflesh assisted by James Raposo, Director of Negotiations for UFCW Local 1518.
