Vancouver International Airport Delays

August 10, 2010

Before you head to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) this summer, check your flight to see if it has been delayed.

Major YVR flight delays have occurred since July 19th, when refueling supervisors were locked out by Servisair, a Paris-based multinational corporation.

Servisair has since refused to negotiate a first collective agreement with their workers who fuel planes and perform calculations for airplane fuel loads. For more details click here.

“We strongly recommend travelers flying out of Vancouver check the airport website: www.yvr.ca, or contact their airline to get the latest information,” says Kay Sinclair, PSAC Regional Executive Vice President.

Airlines affected are United, Air New Zealand, Continental, KLM, US Airways, Cathay Pacific, American, WestJet, Air North, and Air Canada.
