Negotiations Continue At Urban Fare

The Union Negotiating Committee met with Urban Fare on August 10th and 11th to discuss details of the renewal of their Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The company provided the Union Committee with a list of “discussion items” that were addressed and examined throughout the meeting. Both parties also discussed and clarified their expectations of their proposals.

The Union Committee has asked the company to be more specific about their proposals related to several of their discussion items. This information will be presented at the next round of bargaining on September 7.

The Union Negotiating Committee is Jason Buckle and Nash Huntley of Urban Fare Yaletown, Bev Bednarz and Alli Brown of Urban Fare Coal Harbour, Colin Russell and Shelley Stieler of Alberni St. Urban Fare, with alternate Carrol Ann Thomas of Urban Fare Yaletown. The Union Committee is assisted by James Raposo (Director of Negotiations, UFCW 1518), and Monica Staff (Director, Member Services, UFCW 1518).
