Members ratify first contract at Island Pharmacy!
Following a grueling six-month organizing campaign and eight months of bargaining, 50 members working at Island Pharmacy ratified their first collective agreement. The front store clerks, pharmacy technicians and pharmacists at nine locations on Vancouver Island voted overwhelmingly in favour of joining UFCW 1518 last May. Kimberley Transport wins living wage tie-in
UFCW 1518 members working at Kimberley Transport ratified a strong renewed collective agreement in February that saw many gains. Kimberley Transport is a non-profit community transit bus system that runs between Kimberley and Cranbrook as well as between the township of Kimberley and the ski hill. New contract makes Sunrise workers highest paid in industry
About 450 UFCW 1518 members working for Sunrise Poultry ratified a new collective agreement with substantial gains, making it the strongest contract in British Columbia’s poultry industry. “Without question, these members are now the highest paid poultry workers in BC – if not North America,” comments director Kim Balmer.
